Make this Summer your best summer yet!  Take to heart these 8 friendly and helpful tips to guide you to a fit and healthy Summer body!

1. CARBS AND PROTEIN

Carbs aren’t necessarily the enemy if you’re trying to lose weight for Summer.  Selecting the right carbs will allow you to see dynamic results.  For instance, stick to the traditional oatmeal or wheat toast for breakfast, bananas before your workouts, and always before 3 p.m; sticking with the lean, white proteins for dinner.  Fish, turkey, chicken, and egg whites are excellent protein selections.

2. MEAL PLANNING

Can’t stress this enough.  If you construct a structured and constant reminder of what you want to accomplish for the week, your goal(s) become much more realistic and attainable.  Leaving the wandering mind to decide what to eat will only make sticking to your plan more difficult.  Make a plan and stick to it!

3. VEGGIES!

This is a no-brainer.  Growing up, our parents always told us to eat our veggies.  Now that we’ve grown up, nothing has changed!  Pack your meals with veggies galore and you won’t go hungry.  It’s easy to mix it up with so many options, especially when you season your veggies with a splash of soy sauce, lemon, or ginger.

4. NATURAL ALL THE WAY!

Let’s not bore our savory glands to death!  Stock up on natural flavors so you don’t lose the novelty of healthy, great food.   Maybe start a small herbal garden and have it close by?

5. HUNGRY?

It’s common to want to reach for something as soon as hunger kicks in.  Sometimes holding off on eating and waiting a bit will make your next meal that much more enjoyable.  Grazing can be good, but stay away from the kind of impulse snacks that ruin your planned meals.

6. SNACKING

It’s always a good idea to pack snacks for the on-the-go moments in your day.  Almonds, walnuts, fresh fruit, granola bars, or anything reachable and healthy will keep the overpowering hunger urges away and keep you focused.

7. WATER IS YOUR FRIEND

Water stabilizes your appetite and keeps you going throughout your day.  Stay hydrated and notice the difference.

8. WHY AM I EVEN DOING THIS?

Start_With_Why

If losing weight for the Summer is your goal, it’s important to reflect on why exactly you’re doing this.  Keeping a photo near by of some body shape you aspire to have, or maybe reflecting upon a time where you were in better shape…point is, there’s nothing wrong with wanting to lose a little weight and achieve your goals!

 On an end note,

It’s crucial to exercise several times a week to increase muscle mass, improve metabolism, and change your body shape.  A big part of the equation has to do with your kitchen relationship.  This balance of dedication to fitness and discipline with dietary choices is what will decide the level of results you are going to achieve!

So, if you want to have the most amazing beach body this Summer, then let’s do this right!

***Fun Facts: This year’s Summer solstice is June 20th.

But did you know it’s the Winter Solstice, too?!?

In the Northern Hemisphere, where it is the longest day of the year in terms of daylight, the June Solstice is called the Summer Solstice. In the Southern Hemisphere, on the other hand, it is the shortest day of the year and is known as the Winter Solstice.
