Dear Friends,

I’m back from a grueling week. It is Friday morning, and as is customary, I look back over the week and scan my to-do lists to see if I’ve checked it all off.  →  So far so good. What a week!


Work was very, very busy.

I found myself juggling schedules and appointments to fit everything in.

Sometimes even the best-laid plans go awry…

…and we have to brainstorm and allow ourselves the flexibility to choose another route to the end goal…

I want to say, though, that I am the one who was encouraged and inspired this week by women who approached me – some strangers and some not – who wanted to know:

“Where do you work out?”
“What can I do to improve (this or that)?”
“Susan, I’ve been meaning to talk to you. I really need help to get back into shape.”
“Susan, you’re not going to believe this! I went on your blog and now I’m working out again. “
“I didn’t do as much as I used to, but it’s a start. And it feels great.”
“You know what? It’s all mental. When I work out, I feel so great. Everything else just flows.”
“I’ve taken your advice and started preparing my meals for the day, so I’m not tempted to eat junk.”

It has been inspiring to me to hear these women talk about their desire to get healthy and into shape, and to hear from those who are already doing it on whatever their personal level is.

Sometimes we don’t always have the luxury of planning a day around our workouts.
Sometimes we have to squeeze it in on the fly. At those times – – which are plenty for me lately – – my workouts are just as important as those items on my to-do list.

I remember a very distant past when I had to “feel good” and have “all my ducks in a row” to work out.

It’s funny how consistency and making this my way of life has changed that perception and approach.
